We have two favorite premium hotels on South Beach: the Delano and the Four Seasons. We recommend the Four Seasons for families but the Delano for singles or twenty/thirty-somethings without children.

More details:
The Delano (co-owned by Ian Schrager and Madonna) offers a "barefoot chic" environment that you would expect from these two. Well-located on Collins Ave at 17th, the Delano is a great place to pop in for an early evening drink. The lobby and and the 208 rooms and suites are designed by Philippe Starck, so it is no surprise that the Delano is reportedly favored by celebrities and visiting dignitaries. We love the pool, inset in a lawn adorned extensive collection of sleek furniture and objets d'art.
The Four Seasons has a prime location on South Beach. This picture was taken from the boardwalk that runs along the beach, giving you a sense of the proximity to the shore. The Four Seasons has excellent programs for children and, of course, we've found the service to be impeccable--to the point of offering cookies and milk at bedtime.

As Citysearch says, "Guest rooms ooze opulence, with marble and granite detailing in the oversized bathrooms. Down pillows and duvets will keep you snug at night; satellite television, CD and DVD players, and wireless Internet in the lobby will keep you entertained."
