Miami is a hidden gem for fantastic fishing. In fact, South Florida has some of the best big-game fishing close to the United States and there are many charter boats that you can book for full or half-day excursions. Not to far from Miami, you can find sailfish, mahi-mahi, tuna, king mackerel, wahoo, grouper, giant sharks, barracuda, snapper, as well as many other species!

There are many charter boats available for fishing of all levels from family friendly "fishing tours" to "party boats" to serious sport fishing lasting a full day or more. For first-timers, we recommend a 3/4-day fairly mellow fishing excursion. Nearly all Miami fishing excursions provide you with lures and rods, though you are generally welcome to bring your own.

When you go, make sure you bring along sunblock, a hat, and a windbreaker/rain coat (just in case). It can get cool out on the water. Also, make sure you ask about food and drink: we've found that policies vary from ship to ship.
