| You can entertain yourself in Las Vegas for Free by walking up and down The Strip and spending some time in each of the hotels. Check out the Grand Canal in the Venetian or the art collection at the Bellagio. Outside of the Treasure Island there's a Pirate Stunt show on a regular schedule and a Volcano that erupts regularly outside the Mirage. Ride up the Eiffel Tour at the Paris or relax and watch the water jets "perform" outside the Bellagio... | |
Yet when you tire of walking, there are lots of GREAT shows to see in Las Vegas. Many of these sell out, so buy the tickets in advance if you can! Recommended Las Vegas Shows Check out our review of the Cirque du Soleil. We also recommend Blue Man Group. Check out our review and discount tips. If you enjoy magic, we recommend both Penn and Teller as well as Lance Burton, although their styles are quite different: Lance Burton has a flare for the dramatic, ala David Copperfield, while Penn and Teller tend towards "down to earth" or more comedic magic. Speaking of Comedy, there are a variety of shows that pass through Las Vegas at any given time. Howie Mandel is a staple (and riotously funny) and Jerry Seinfeld performed in Vegas recently. Vegas also has musicals like La Cage, Lord of the Dance, and Wayne Newton. Be sure to look online for Las Vegas show tickets when planning your trip and grab some tickets before you get there. Discount Tickets Since many of these shows sell out, it can be tricky to get discount tickets. We recommend shopping around online in advance. If you're REALLY lucky, sometimes you can find 1/2 price tickets available the day of the show.
